“Successful processors around the world rely on the Sprint 2 by Urschel. Whether they are low-, medium-, or high-volume processors, the dicer offers maximum versatility. Versatility in the styles of cuts produced, the many types of food products the machine processes, and how easily the dicer fits into a processor’s line. The Sprint 2 Dicer takes up minimal production space to optimise processing potential,” explained Tim O’Brien, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Urschel USA.
The Sprint 2® Dicer with discharge conveyor belt features operation at the push of a button. The machine accepts a maximum infeed product of 16.5cm in any dimension. The conveyor discharge offers gentle, controlled exit of cut product to promote increased shelf-life of cut products and works well with totes or other takeaway systems. The dicer effectively reduces fruits, vegetables, cooked meats, alternative proteins, and bakery products. The machine features continuous operation for uninterrupted production. The Sprint 2 requires limited production floor space and is easily incorporated into new or existing lines.
Sanitary, stainless steel in design, the product cutting zone is completely isolated from the mechanical zone. Rounded tube frame and sloped sheet metal contribute to overall sanitation. Hinged access panels ease component changeovers. Cutting components, such as a circular spindle with a built-in handled carriage, simplify part changes. Dial-in slice adjustment comes standard, and locks down, so slices remain consistent throughout product runs. The Sprint 2 may be set-up to produce 1-, 2-, or 3-dimensional cuts. Slicing-only capability is provided by removing the circular and crosscut knife spindles. 2- or 3-dimensional cutting is provided through adjusting the slice thickness, crosscut, and circular knife spindles. A full range of slices, dices, crumbles/granulations, or strips/shreds is available depending on cutting parts set-up.
Cutting components create a compact cutting zone to create precision cuts. Product is delivered to a feed hopper, then enters a rotating impeller. The resulting centrifugal force holds the product against the inside of the case. Impeller paddles carry the product past the slicing knife. An adjustable slice gate at the top of the case allows the product to move outward across the edge of the slicing knife. The distance between the end of the slice gate and the slicing knife edge determines the slice thickness. As the slices emerge, they are guided between the slicing knife and stripper plate before entering the circular knives where they are cut into strips. The strips pass directly into the crosscut knives where the final cut is made.
Product exits through the discharge opening onto the discharge conveyor moving belt to convey product to the next stage in the production line.
