ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system (EMS) for organisations to improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
The new standard is the 3rd revision of the standard, which saw its last revision in 2004, and has a greater focus on leadership, increased prominence of environmental management within the organisation’s strategic planning processes, addition of proactive initiatives to protect the environment from harm and degradation, as well as the addition of a communications strategy and improving environmental performance.
This represents an important achievement for Behn Meyer as it strives towards greater sustainability across all our operations.
