Sponsorship plays a crucial role in supporting sports activities around the APAC region, in maintaining their operations, and in improving their regional and global exposure. It contributes to the enhancement of sports in the Asia Pacific (APAC) while also increases exposure of those brands that are sponsors.
According to GlobalData, there are 236 alcoholic beverage brands engaged in sports sponsorship within APAC in 2023 generating a revenue of US$147.26 million with soccer proving to be the most lucrative market.
GlobalData’s latest report, “APAC Alcoholic Beverages Sports Sponsorship Landscape, 2023,” revealed that in 2023, soccer generated US$32.59 million in sponsorship revenue, accounting for 22% per year of sector spend within APAC, followed by rugby league with US$22.36 million.
Major sponsors for the APAC region include Carlton Draught (Australia); Luzhou Laojiao, a Chinese liquor brand; and Chang Beer (Thailand). Among the biggest spenders, 3 brands came from Japan and 2 from Australia.
