Taiwan-based MSG producer retains Vietnam as the most important market

Vietnam remains the biggest market for Taiwan-based monosodium glutamate (MSG) producer, Vedan despite 18.1% dip in revenue to US$82.3 million in the first half of 2023.

The decline is attributed to poor market conditions like lower demand for MSG, seasonings, and specialty chemical products.

Vedan Vietnam subsidiary was established in 1991, with its factory located in southern Dong Nai province. Vedan then established a branch in Hanoi and a tapioca starch processing factory in southern Binh Phuoc province.
