Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad or better known as Mydin, the largest wholesaler and retailer for 100% halal products in Malaysia, is planning to launch in April a special mobile application for 23 of its exclusive partners who can check promotional prices.
Managing Director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin said the application will display information on promotions and prices of goods offered to help users plan their spending when shopping at Mydin outlets.
Currently, only physical cards are used unfortunately users are not able to see what items are on promotion. With the new app, exclusive partners which include card holders of Malaysian Information Department Media Certificate, will be able to access more information including promotional prices.
Ameer said every week, Mydin will have promotions of different items as part of its goal to help the community to allay the rising cost of daily essentials. As an example, from 8 to 14 January, Mydin offers a packet of yellow noodles at only RM1 (US$0.21) for cardholders (exclusive partners) compared to its original cost of RM1.75 (US$0.37).
