Carmen’s Best is riding the Filipino crave for gourmet ice cream, with its 2nd store opened in December at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
The new store will offer all 15 of its flavors which include salted caramel, malted milk and dark chocolate amongs others.
Its recently launched e-commerce platform sells its ice cream online to be enjoyed in the comfort of home. However, not all menus are sold and some are store-only exclusives which include sandwiches, cones, milkshakes, affogato, and ice cream cakes.
Head of Marketing Missy Mediana emphasised on the quality of Carmen’s Best ice cream being made of 100% fresh milk while some other ice cream brands, due to a shortage in supply of local milk, resorted to using additives.
With the acquisition made by Metro Pacific Investments Corp last year, Mediana said the company is ready for expansion in key cities with at least 1-2 stores to be opened in each city every year. There are also plans to open smaller scooping stations in supermarkets across the provinces.
There are also plans to diversify into other dairy products like cheese, yogurt and fresh milk which Mediana projected to hit the market sometime in mid-2024.
Meanwhile, for the ice cream category, Carmen’s Best is looking into bringing back phased-out flavors as well as new flavors that appeal to the health-conscious segment for eg. less sweeter or plant-based ice cream.
