In November 2023, Australia revised its import regulations for dairy. Products that have less than 10% dairy content no longer need approval from the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry to enter Australia.
However, a manufacturer’s declaration or food product label stating that dairy content is less than 10 percent by dry weight (excluding added water) is required for biosecurity compliance.
In cases where the required documentation is not available or insufficient, the products will need to undergo an inspection to ensure compliance with the import condition.
