Pakistani-based The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOM) has become the first company in South Asia to successfully export heat-treated frozen beef meat products to China.
China holds the distinction of being the world’s largest meat importer, importing approximately 3.10 million metric tons of beef and mutton meat in 2022, and TOM has secured a unique position as one of only 2 companies to have obtained a license for exporting cooked beef meat products to China from South Asia.
TOM expects to see significant growth in export volumes and turnover as it explored new opportunities in the Chinese market.
To meet the growing demand for its products, TOM has recently approved an expansion and upgrading plan for its production facilities, with an investment of US$2.15 million, to increase its meat chilling and freezing capacities.
TOM is engaged in the processing, sale and export of halal meat and allied products, mainly to the Middle East, but also to the US, Europe, Far East, Commonwealth of Independent States and South Asian markets.
