Recently, US-based Orange Cheese Company, a strategic partner for many well-known US dairy brands, attended the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the first time.
Cynthia Lu, Managing Director of the company said, “What stood out the most for us at the China Import Expo was the sheer magnitude of the event. The size of the expo and the multitude of exhibitors surpassed what we’ve encountered in many other exhibitions. The substantial foot traffic not only created a vibrant atmosphere but also resulted in numerous high-level interactions… We firmly believe that the CIIE ranks among the best we’ve attended in all of Asia, underscoring its significance not just within China but on a broader regional scale.”
The confidence in CIIE has left many other foreign cheese players to wonder whether CIIE could be the focal point for them seeking to penetrate the huge China market.
During the CIIE, Cynthia mentioned that Orange Cheese got connected with many new customers in both retailing, food processing and food service sectors, although it stopped short of signing any agreements. CIIE offers an excellent platform to connect with major players in the industry across the food chain.
Orange Cheese gained the opportunity to present its products, unveiled some of its latest retail offerings in the Chinese market and engaged with a new network of Chinese companies expressing strong interest in American cheese.
Established in 2014, the Orange Cheese Company has 2 subsidiaries operating in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. As Chinese consumers are more open to try different cheeses and incorporate cheese into their dietary routines, the primary focus of the company is to deliver a diverse selection of American natural, processed, and specialty cheese products, and to cater to the needs of retail, food service, and dairy manufacturing sectors in China.
Recognizing the importance of catering to Chinese household needs, the US company has introduced a retail brand featuring smaller-sized cheese items tailored to accommodate the typical Chinese household size of 1-2 persons. To align with the Chinese taste preferences, the company has also innovatively incorporated fruit flavors into its cheese products.
Liu added, “Our vision includes having our cheese prominently featured in all major pizza and burger chain restaurants across China, while also aiming for comprehensive placement in every significant retail store in the country.” Orange Cheese aims to become a leading cheese exporter in China reaching every household and food services outlets in China.
