HDC & JAKIM to streamline Halal certification via digitalisation – In Malaysia, the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) will work with Malaysia Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) to simplify the entire Halal certification process from pre-approval to post-approval stages with the soft launch of National Halal Digital Platform in October.
Saudi Arabia seeks to establish cooperation in Halal Product Assurance with Indonesia and Singapore – Saudi Arabia has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Halal product assurance cooperation with Indonesia to ensure conformity assessment procedure, standard specifications, and technical regulations for the issuance of halal certificates. At the same time, the agreement seeks to recognise the halal certificates issued by both counterparts to facilitate exports.
Similar MoU was signed by the Saudis with the Singapore counterpart.
